So, the month of October is breast cancer awareness month, and this is something close to my heart, due to the fact that several years ago, my mom called me on the phone and told me that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. It took my breath away. My main outlet for my feelings at the time were sculpting things using fimo and also making things using paper. I sculpted a lapel pin for my mom using fimo in support of her fight with breast cancer and sent it to her. Luckily, for four years now, she has been cancer free. My manicure today, while simple, reflects the love for my mother and her fight that she won while battling breast cancer. I love you, mom :)
